The most important thing is knowing how to learn, which is where /permabegs/ fail. The second most important thing is applied practice, which is not the same thing as drawing every day, also important. Third most is to study every day. Fourth most is actually finishing artwork. Gains are not linear. Neither is your ability to properly see and critique your own artwork. The two are often surprisingly independent. Hitting a plateau means something needs to change. Sometimes there are no further gains to be had with your current skill tree, and you have to unlock something else first. Sometimes you just need a break.
