I agree. Country bumpkin types aren't as dumb and innocent as they look. They're really good at switching into hillbilly mode when under suspicion, but I've met just as many villains in the country as the city.

There's a lot of information missing from this case. Personally I think the gay encounters between the dad and Berchtold were earlier and more numerous than described in the interviews.
