It takes hours, we stand by the roadside attempting to console our sister human. It is alot of meaningless words, however ultimately she eventually calms down from her hysterics. She hands us our... hand. It appears she managed to grab it before our get away in our host's car. We take it gratefully, however the sister human begins to make demands of us to "Go to a hospital!. ... I dont care what mom says... My god how far did I drive.... fuuuuck... I'd have you carry me back to civilization like any good older sister should, but since you lost your hand to that... THING, I guess ill just... go to sleep, fuck i dont know... Just wake me up if you can stop a car..."

Eventually even the sister human cannot justify her staying up and she slowly slithers into our host's car and closed her eyes. Good... We take a bite our our severed hand... tastes... good. We have enough sense now to not devour our own appendage Infront of the road, even if it is a backwater barely traveled road. We peel the skin from the bone, pulling apart each tendon, learning the mechanics of the hand. This is not like how we devoured the rabbit, our instincts forbad us from that reckless hunger. No, this was a slow dissection, piece, by piece. By the end of the feeding we eventually understood the entire function of the hand. and with our original biomass we were able to regrow the thing in it's entirety. This knowledge lets us understand most of the other joints in our body, they are made of the same parts. However the organs... will require similar study. As such we should avoid losing our vital organs such as our heart, lungs, or what we have replaced the brain for. We are still not entirely sure what we did to the brain organ of our host, however it is for the best that we avoid damaging what is there at all costs...

Eventually however after several hours have passed and the sky began to turn a pale blue, even through the cloud and tree tops, a Semi came bumbling down the road. We eventually got the driver's attention. Older male, balding, graying beard, baseball cap and a stained shirt. He seemed friendly to our host, we noticed that he did look us up and down several times before shaking his head. He invited us inside and asked us of our destination... We did not know... We stall, we go to gather our sister creature from her resting place in our car. She did not wake until a liberal application of slapping to her forehead, upon which we almost received one of our own, it taking immense willpower for our instincts to not hit back. The sister human went to talk to the trucker, speaking loudly of our "Lost hand" until she gained a good look at our nominally intact hand. she stood and gawked. for a time.
