The dealerships here in Israel have the same problem, and what they do is they literally hide the excess cars anywhere they can, from parking garages of semi-abandoned malls, to empty lots in literal desert valleys away from society. They all sit baking in the sun for months and now even more than a year, collecting dust. They slowly offload these excess cars to car leasing companies, or minor dealerships belonging to Arabs, at a major loss. They prefer this over selling them to customers at a discount.
I won't be surprised if they do this shit in the US as well. They probably offload unsold cars to Mexico at a heavy discount just to keep the prices of brand new cars up.
