I love it. You know what the best compliment you can get if you're a well assimilated, pro American immigrant from Europe?
It's when you've been talking to someone for a good while until they even notice that you're foreign. Like an hour in and they'll say
>wait a minute do you have an accent?
I also love then they talk about how much they despise foreigners or immigrants around me and specifically say
>I don't mean like you though
>you're not 'foreign'
>etc
Really makes me happy and genuinely proud. You'd have to live it to understand it.
