I just won't play your game if character creation is clunkier than selecting from one of a dozen predefined appearances and maybe adjusting some stats. Uggh, I know, sorry! But I'm just not going to buy it if I have to spend 3 hours fidgeting with sliders creating a face I don't care about before I can even play!
