I really liked it, the production values are off the charts. I liked how despite mechs being 3D it emulated the dynamic storyboards of 0079. I loved the mixing in of classic sound effects. And despite how many people (mostly Westerners) complain about it being nostalgia bait, I think saying it didn't have a unique story it focused on is disingenuous. I thought Machu and Nyan are really interesting characters in their own right and their contrast was outstanding. I love Machu especially because she combines very contradicting traits that just work, she may come across as bratty sometimes, but at the same time she's very non-judgmental person. She snapped at Nyan and Annqi only because she felt like she was being robbed by them.
