Because there's a general split between westerners that deem exceptionally attractive, fictional women to be dangerous competition, and those that prioritize cool things over sexy things. The latter don't mind sexy women, but it isn't necessary for their enjoyment either. Hence, a lot of fiction is just 90% cool dudes killing each other or dangerous monsters.
