Day 19
I rode the cable car to the summit of Mt. Chimney, only to find Team Magma and Team Aqua locked in a heated standoff. I fought my way through the chaos and confronted Team Magma’s leader, Maxie. After defeating him, I learned of their dangerous plan to expand the landmass—something that could spell disaster. With the conflict halted, I descended the rocky Jagged Pass, catching a bouncy Spoink along the way.
Soon, I arrived in Lavaridge Town and challenged the Gym Leader, Flannery. The battle was as intense as the heat itself—sweaty, fiery, and relentless. Marshstomp doused her Numel and Camerupt with Water Gun, then brought down Slugma and Torkoal using Mud Shot. With another badge earned, I ventured into the desert, where I caught a Trapinch and discovered the Mirage Tower. Inside, I scaled its crumbling floors and claimed the Claw Fossil.
I took the fossil to the Devon Corporation for revival before heading to Petalburg City to take on the Gym Leader Norman. Breloom opened strong, using Mach Punch to pressure both Spinda and Vigoroth, though Marshstomp stepped in to finish them off with Mud Shot. Breloom returned to take out Linoone. Then came Slaking—massive, terrifying, and powerful. Dustox used Poison Sting to land poison, stalling with Protect during Slaking’s loafing turns. But when Norman healed, it disrupted the pattern. Slaking landed a devastating Facade, killing Dustox. It hurt to lose such a reliable ally, but Breloom avenged her with two well-timed Mach Punches to end the fight.
Grieving but moving forward, I returned to Devon Corporation, where they had revived the Claw Fossil—granting me a new companion: Anorith, fresh from the prehistoric past and ready for battle.
