Incredibly easy, unless you're looking for something hyper specific.
Both curse and wow interface had version control,I don't know if they still do but years ago people just downloaded them all and backed them up.
Pservers also run all on the last patch usually so it takes out any ambigiouuity on what versions you need, also if the version is popular enough people make modern addons or fix old addons.
very common with nilla and wotlk, less common with other versions of wow but still happens from time to time if some autist likes that version enough.
