You need to realize that not everything released in software dev will instantly or obviously have some front facing features. A lot of it usually is things that work on improving reliability (so less crashes, or less nightmare in memory usage) or making things just straight up easier for the devs themselves to do anything. Not every release or upgrade of a program has to have a billion new front facing features to make sense.
