With recent characters I hired peasants to carry me around on a palanquin. Adventuring can be quite bougie with how lucrative it is if you spend the funds on comfort instead of magic items or other such tangibly useful silliness. Even if loan wolf I'd need to throw them over a second horse. Horses have fairly weak encumbrance in this system and can't carry multiple passengers at a reasonable pace. Maybe they get a donkey and I get a horse.
