I remember one anon outlining it perfectly how, at one point, all sense of wonderment had just disappeared from show's characters.
Back when I was watching seasons 4-6 (though the decline might have happened as soon as mid season 3), I kept telling myself that the show was consistently entertaining, but couldn't help but feel bored and embarrassed to watch it without knowing why. Turns out if your cast of characters keeps acting like they are bored out of their minds and cringe at everything they see, some of it will just rub off on the viewer making them gradually sick and tired of the show they initially enjoyed watching.
