I was wondering why this didn't sit right with me, and I think I got it. Music discs feels anachronistic or even a bit surreal in Minecraft, like they're left over from a bygone age or somehow fell into this world from somewhere outside of it. I think a lot of C418's music highlights this with its more ethereal sound. But Chicken Jokey feels like a villager hit up the local recording studio so he could upload a meme song to his TikTok. It completely goes against the established feel of the game's world. It's like how Fortnight doesn't have any identity of its own because it's devolved into a mix of pop-culture references and promotional stunts. I guess Bedrock has been like that for a long time now, but it's the first time I've felt it in Java
