It's because the creators are manipulative shitheads
They aren't showing any sort of gratitude or dignity for having a show about a retarded little blob going on for three seasons.
No instead they are using their last minute of screen time to emotionally scar a bunch of kids as a big fuck you to both the network and the audience.
Cause it's not about the craft, it's not about the art, it's not about providing kids with a valuable piece of entertainment.
