The word corporate appears 169 times in the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook from the 90s. Corporation appears 140 times. Every bit of lore mentions corporations controlling everything, the corporate wars, the fight against corporations, etc. Corporate is LITERALLY a class.
Blade Runner is the first thing that comes to people's mind when they hear Cyberpunk and its a movie about a big evil corporation that creates artificial life and then destroys it, told from the perspective of the guy tasked with destroying it.
The "father" of the cyberpunk genre is Neuromancer, a novel full of evil corporations. The main character is literally crippled for life by his employer The sequel, Count Zero, is even more overt with its focus on evil corporations warring with each other over control.
The genre is called CyberPUNK for a reason. Its a rebellion against the powers that be, against societal norms and the corporations that dictate them.
If your tabletop group never once played anything involving an evil corporation its because you deliberately ignored the setting and all its influences. That doesn't mean it wasn't there.
Cyberpunk being anti-corporate goes back to the very roots of the genre in the 60s.
