Not really. Unless they change into a real dere at some point, they have the same problem as Tsun or any other one dimensional trope. They also just feel like weaker excuses for an already existing trope called deadpan. Which the big appeal of deadpan characters is they eventually break the trope and show emotion. A lot of kuudere's don't.
