DE didn't launch with this originally, however Nomad maps became such a cancerous mess that the devs added treaties to them: having the anti-building aura until everyone finishes a TC or it times out. It doesn't stop messy Dark Age slapfights entirely, Nomad pickers are still thought to be more deranged than Arena or even FUCKING MICHI ones, and if you're just playing FFA 8-man Nomad with the AI, then you're still probably going to get fucked by being too close to an opponent. Regardless, the guy who builds the furthest away will be safely booming without any risk of punishment and steamroll everyone, that's not any different. Hell, put it on Regicide and you'll get the occasional opportunity to snipe lost kings on their way home in the Dark Age.
