Xbox is a huge tumor on the 3tn empire and the investors probably want it gone. It served its purpose of multiple post-covid stock bumps.
Further, elephant in the room is the ccp likely offering huge infrastructure and manufacturing deals if they kill the brand and leave a gap for Tencent/Nease in the West. Something that will also fail, but MS doesn't give a shit. They just want the money.
