I make $87k and was in the market earlier this year for houses in the 300k range. eventually I had to face facts and realize I couldn't afford it, since my monthly net is only $4000 and the lowest payment I was getting with the houses I was looking at was ~$2500. Over half my monthly net on PIMI isn't "affording" a house IMO.
I decided I need to either increase my income or save up more for a down payment, so I'm looking for a new job and cut all my expenses and put more towards savings.
