For all the flak POE2 gets, I absolutely love the titanic amount of lore fanservice they did with fleshing out these various characters who are just a name on some item in POE1, or POE2 playable chars worshipping deities the POE1 exile just randomly whacked in the campaign/mapping. Just feels comfy to keep it grounded to the existing world and not keep reintroducing nonsense self-insert snowflakes to drive the story forward.
