it's explainable by graduating with a CS degree with 20k in debt, grinding leetcode, moving across the country to a job with 170k total comp and living in the cheapest possible apartment in the area while you save up and get promoted to 250k total comp after 2 years, then spending 2 more years in that same shitty apartment saving your money.
I used student loan money for my $500/mo apartment while i went to college too.
I bought a $250k house in a lower cost of living city and I'm turning in my 2-weeks to move there and get a remote SDE job. I'll take a pay cut, but my current job is so stressful it's worth the peace of mind and more personal time, plus I won't have to pay 2k in rent per month anymore. just ~$500/mo for ALL monthly expenses. My experience of 4 years in FAANG while getting promoted will be plenty to land a 6 figure remote or office job after moving. I hate being a slave and I plan to retire early.
just because you can't do it in your country doesn't mean it's not possible in mine.
