Quality checking the models.
1. Because they're weird conversions with possible break points among many things I need to check... I have to prod everywhere, see if I can get more glue points for the spider legs and chafe off all the bits that seem stuck to them.
2. Wiggle the glue points and see if the weak ones fail.
3. Go over (yet again) all the flashing spots to see if I missed any. I swear I always miss some.
4. Ready the bases. Minor flaashing, bits to add for weight.
5. Gently wash the models in a light rinse and dry them. I may seem weird doing this after gluing but I tend to scrape everywhere I glue prior to gluing/drill and pin it. The washing is more for the dust I make when I drill into the models, and I drilled all of them in some way.
6. I go too far sometimes. I still have a few models to tinker with but I'm mostly done. After the wash stage I can get some of the right tissue and proper paint and start "making web all over the models". I fray the tissue paper with my fingertips and lay it down with a paint brush where I want to. Makes for many effects, from wavey water crests to clothing, in this case I'm going to brush with thick paint so it cakes on and I'm going to streak it one direction to look like web.
