I don't know Japanese so I'm not sure I translated the producion info of Kakuranger correctly, can anyone tell me if I got this right?
>The staff wanted the show to feel as if it was at the peak of the Showa bubble, that's why it has a more westernized feel with comic book fonts, the first dance ending theme in the franchise, unorthodox street fashion, Junior riding a Ferrari and wageslaves villains
>They didn't want a 6th ranger so they went with Ninjaman which was introduced much later than an usual extra
>The main writer wanted the show to be dark like the previous two, so the second half is more serious
>Toei wanted to have more footage for Power Rangers readily available so the Rakugoka narrator stops appearing in the second half
>The reason they have a van as a base and travel so much was because that year had the ideal weather for it
>Despite only gaining 7.8 billions in toy sales, Kakuranger is considered a financial success because it managed to gain another 5 billions outside toy sales
>Sasuke's actor personally asked Sakamoto to do the anniversary movie because his first directional role was the mini-series power rangers adaptation of Kakuranger
>Junior's actor for depressed during the show because children told him "that he should die for bullying Kakuranger" but despite that he's a big fan of toku and often brings up how great the staff of the show was. The fashion designer wanted Junior to have a "gay punk rocker" look
>Jiraiya's actor was picked because he was the protagonist of the western Ultraman show, however he didn't know much Japanese and when he was given the initial script he had to slowly romanize the scripts he was given, when the staff saw that they came up with the idea of him being a westerner in the show to reflect his irl struggle. Sasuke's actor teached him Japanese during the show
Also do we know why Kakuranger was a comedy at first? I know Carranger was because Takatera was depressed and some comedy has better ratings last year
