It made no sense for Pamela to kill her as well. I wonder how much of the film was made up as it went along because it's clearly a man (Savini) that kills her and she spends the entire scene talking about how she LOVES children and it's her dream to work with children, so it made no sense for the neglectful teen killer to want to kill her. Justice for best girl, who a script revision would have saved.
