If you pay attention, all of the girls are disappointed with their adult lives and are pretty generally unhappy.
Nora in particular seems to really resent her wife and be unhappy with the person she has become. Especially since she clearly still has such strong feelings for Swann.
My bet is that this is all setup for B&R 2. Bringing back Kat from the abyss is going to result in changing time; everything from '22 we saw in B&R 1 being considered a 'bad timeline'.
So I have some real hope that Snora may just get a real happy ending.

We basically only have part 1 of what is clearly intended to be a 2 part story within the LR franchise.
I think that kiss is a pretty good way to start what is functionally an intermission between now and part 2, that will conclude the B&R story.
