It only shows up as a mood thing not anywhere on the UI, must be something with the new UI, actually can you even see if you're a werecreature on the new UI? May be a limitation of this version.
As for toughness, I think it about makes you as tough as a dragon, cause the cave dragon I fought only shred my left arm even though it hit me on the chest that's only covered by bronze a couple times and didn't do much damage there.
