/admin/ has yet to say much so I would like to speak on a decision that will be probably made soon on auto-mentalties in PES17.
As discovered before, PES17 has hidden values that link PES16's Numbers in Attack/Defense values to the Auto-mentality system. This was modified in the 4cc files to be set to Many/Many. This causes the default Auto-mentality to generally use +1 in possession and/or and -1 when out of possession and/or losing (I think - I'm not 100% sure). However, this is not the only way that auto-mentality is designed to be used. Instead, within the gameplan's Simple-settings, if one is to turn on Fluid and Auto-change Atk/Def level (auto-mentalities), you can access different auto-mentalitied included in the game with these fluids. These elements do not need to remain on to keep this auto-mentality function, so one could adjust their formation still. Pic related is the natural auto-mentalities.
However, with the current 4CC files, these no longer work correctly and the only* (not 100% on this one) working auto-mentality is the +1/-1 one. Effectively, the other auto-mentals, especially the LongBall and QuickCounter's neutral/+1 style are unavailable within the 4cc database. This seems to be intended.
The issue is that this can be easily bypassed by simply loading the tactics from a stock PES17 team (i.e. Lazio). This ignores whatever things have occured within the 4CC files. This is the method that /vrg/ used in Survival Round to acquire this same auto-mentality. Subsequently, /vg/ League has banned* this and, though they've not decided on a final ruling, I have spoken with a member of /admin/ and it seems their plan is to ban this for being too arcane, even if enforcement of it is difficult since it cannot be seen until the match starts.
I am personally in favor of allowing all auto-mentals or at least that the QuickCounter one be the "default", but I am mainly making this to make people aware of the decisions over of shilling my personal points.
