I think I get it, I had a DXM trip that made me realize that the physical world I'm in is only a necessary evil that lets me access the world that exists within my mind, a world where my dreams are real, where my favorite characters exist, and best of all, I can explore and influence with the only true limit being my imagination and my physical body making the DXM's effects wear off.
I may have been bullied, I may have been abused, I may have failed in most aspects of my life, I may have permanent illnesses that will affect my life in the physical world for as long as I'm in it, but the key was way far more accessible than I thought.
The key gets consumed, the worlds start colliding and thanks to that, I can hop in and out of my mind whenever I please, I can visit in the fictional worlds I love so dearly cherish, with it's inhabitants given life, I can have peaceful bliss, or a bunch of exciting action on a whim, I can do anything! this sort of power makes your head spin, but even despite that, you discovered how beautiful your mind is and even then, you can mold it to your heart's content, it's your own personalized sanctuary that you can come in and out of whenever as long as the key's coursing through your veins.
And to imagine that inside every human being, this world dormantly rests in their skull, obviously everyone can see it to some extent in their dreams, but to be able to explore it wide awake is an experience like no other.
