All the timeline stuff is silly but that was always clearly the endgoal form the moment Char quotes Lalah and disappears in what was obviously a wormhole of some kind.
I've quite enjoyed this series though. I only wish it had maybe 2 or 3 more episodes. Maybe one more clan battle episode with the trio hanging out afterwards and one for Machu exploring Earth more.
