I also like how the og digimon was about a bunch of kids getting send to the digimon world, and the GG is the opposite, digimon are coming into the human world. In fact where the og anime took place almost entirely in the "digimon world", the GG takes place 100% in the human world, and it works super well.

Another thing that surprised me was just how well the characters were handled. Out of the three main characters, the most main main character was my favorite mc, and the other two were not bad either. And the supporting cast is pretty nice too, and they handled the ever expanding amount of supporting characters and digimon very well. You get "attached" to a bunch of characters rather than just a few main ones
