We very rapidly hit the point where a thing that was initially an understandable point of criticism talked about by a small group of informed fans has telephone-game'd into a social media dogpile where people just make shit up and farm likes for it. When you combine this shit with the game performing much better in Japan, I wouldn't even blame Sega for just shrugging off westerners at this point. Westoids are literally incapable of productive consumer advocacy, it's either mindlessly slurping up garbage or fake outrage over made up shit for social media engagement.
