Sure, I want to be right as well, but my ability giving me some worth is that I am willing to learn and change my standpoint. Most people take intelligent people sharing useful info with them as personal attack. If telling someone something cool, maybe the person was just excited and NOT flexing on them. Usually dumb people are super easy to offend, something something cognitive dissonance.

I see your point and it appears to be so. Maybe movies are a great example. Some movies make use of a narrator type character that asks dumb questions and the other characters explain it to the character.
I feel when we bowed down to allow every dummy to be included and kept in the loop via cheap narrative devices, companies appealed to the lowest common denominator, because dumb people are potential customers as well.
