I thought they were going to lean into M3gan feeling angry at Cady because she ripped her in half to stop her from stabbing Gemma but apparently she just instantly forgave her

I rewatched the ending of the first one and counted; M3gan grips Cady by the head for 18 consecutive seconds, an extremely long time as it unfolds, while Gemma is incapacitated but never actually harms her. It makes me wonder how much of that was suspense filmmaking bullshit and how much of it was that even during the angriest most betrayed moment of her life she still couldn't actually bring herself to hurt Cady.
