Scaler weapons were a required invention from the U.S after other county's started their own anti gravity flight vehicle programs. The U.S needed a way to stop enemy's using the same platform against them. A scaler weapon is designed to blind the field around the craft to prevent sight and position in 3D space resulting in the craft crashing. It's known in these programs that you don't fly these crafts in a traditionally manner you fly vertically then horizontal but always return and reset at a vertical point above the earth to prevent a crash or being disabled by your enemy.
