Get an opsol mini clip, let's you cycle the minis and they are substantially nicer to shoot out of shotties like these. It's 20 dollars for a piece of rubber and you can't cycle full shells with it in but it only takes a minute to install or remove anyway. If mini shells were more common and affordable I'd only be shooting them out of my Maverick 88 cruiser. I haven't had any reliability issues with mine

I think most mossbergs are rated for 2 3/4 and 3 out of the factory, they don't cycle mini shells very well without something like the opsol
