use wargames atlantic plastic samurai and ashigaru for the human troops.
cromarty forge for the demons and the dragon.

seems like one each of the wga boxes gets you to about 1000 so maybe pick up a 2nd box of samurais and then let the monsters bring it the rest of the way to 2k.
