No it's not. It's awful. The gameplay was reduced to buffing on top of infused weapons and each build pivoting entirepy around that specific element.

Armor was downgraded to uselessness and poise was instantly countered by any hit or maybe dual hit for the weakest enemy and impossible to reset, while in PVP anyone just had the Stone Ring

Dark Souls 3 was an actual massive improvement to RPG mechanics because it begins heavily penalizing brainless choices and incentivizing using the damage types and infusions that the enemy is actually weak to else getting very little returns. It also hardcaps sheer leveling in favour of properly tuned builds and differentiated hybrid with pure builds through unbuffable special weapons and hybrid AR scaling system
