Full of plot holes and contrivances. Unfortunately, one of the worst is the foundation the whole second act is built upon, that being that Link, Navi, Impa, and Zelda's plan to get the triforce and the subsequent snatching of defeat from the jaws of victory never made any sense.

First of all, Ganondorf doesn't win because he's clever or powerful, he wins because the plot hands him what he wants for no other reason than the story can't continue otherwise. He needs three spiritual stones and the royal Ocarina to be able to get the Triforce. In a stunning display of competence, he obtains exactly 0/4 and instead just kind of blunders into the sacred realm by accident.

And why did this happen? Because the plan to stop him never made any sense. If the goal was to get rid of all the other safeguards that were in fact successfully keeping Ganondorf out and replacing them with a ten year old, that's really dumb. If the plan was to use the triforce themselves to wish Ganondorf away or powerless, then why the hell did the mastersword decide to kidnap Link for seven years rather than just letting him into the sacred realm to make his wish. He never needed to wield the sword, just use it as a key to get in. For that matter, once Link figures out that he can travel back in time, why doesn't he just wish on the triforce then? Why go back to the future at all? Did the sword just arbitrarily decide to send him back to sometime after Ganondorf broke the triforce rather than the moment he first picked up the sword? Why? For what possible reason?
