Im gonna say what everyone already knows but maybe dont want to admit
The community will have to make better siege maps.
CAs is never doing that, they're all hands on 40k now and have handed the game to the bulgarians. End Times cant be that far off now.

Good news is the AI in WH3, even with the overly complex MP focused GCCM maps seems to be able to handle it alright.
Its never gonna be great, and Im not suggesting people copy those maps outright, but something better than the vanilla maps is feasible.
I mean, they managed to navigate this monstrosity about as well as could be expected of a total war AI.
