Unions today don't give a shit about non-unionized workers, they have no interest in expanding unionization, just in getting more for their _own_ union workers and the hell with everybody else.
If you go to the UAW's website for example and try to look up unionization, all it tells you is "talk to your coworkers about getting a union!" which of course will only get you fired when someone rats you out to management.
Unions used to _actively promote unionization_ they went around holding rallies and trying to get non-union shops unionized but nowadays, they just sit on their hands and leave everybody else swinging in the wind.
