Jade being alone for any part is just unnecessary narrative cruelty to an already neglected character. Hussie didn't know how to write her as anything other than a plot device so all the times she wasn't being one he just glossed over her. After the fact he addressed criticism of Jade's character as people calling her a "mary sue", obviously trying to frame it as if people were just upset about Jade being a strong female character, but the problem wasn't that Jade was too strong, it's that he never spent enough time on her to give her weaknesses or flaws, he just uses her as a cudgel to push forward other character's arcs. There is literally no reason all the beta kids + the remaining trolls couldn't have chilled on the ship travelling across the yellow yard together, she is a green-sun powered god tier witch of space for christ's sake, if there is literally anyone that should be capable of bringing everyone on the meteor into their universe it should be her. Fuck, she could literally create a portal TO THEM to send a message but hurrrr it's only one way. Problem Sleuth had all it's main characters be together face to face at around the HALFWAY MARK of the comic, in Homestuck the first 4 characters don't get to be together until the very fucking end. And for what! So the main characters of your comic can waste away doing FUCKING NOTHING for thousands of pages just being lame and depressed and gay, having almost no interesting interactions, all for it to then get fucking RETCONNED ANYWAY holy shit act 6 is such a dumpster fire in so many ways
