They know (with a bit of magic) how to weave fabrics so strong that they can stop blades. Like modern day kevlar etc. So they can wear light but strong armor which does not hinder their uncanny ability to dodge incoming blows. Of course you can't dodge well within line formations (if your elves use them) so their shields should have something more, like those scales or something woven into the cloth.
For weapons... dunno. sharpened stone and bone feels kinda archaic for that kind of technology. But maybe classic obsidian blades (and stone maces for metal armored enemies) and they would have few spare weapons if the obsidian shatters. Or blades made from (dragon)claws as bone would be too soft for armor.
