It is some sort of mirage colloid magnetic field. Effectively like an I field but come to think of it, doesn’t mirage colloid usually just bend beams instead of blocking them? Maybe the saber tries to maintain the saber’s shape enough that it doesn’t let it distort when it hits something anti-beam, like you can’t physically push it through because the EM field is resisting it, but it passes through other beam sabers because they have no mass?
