There's not really enough to say. Something bad happened to Dess. Maybe it's tied to the Dark World, maybe someone wants to use it as an avenue to save her, maybe she's evil herself and the one making the Prophecy for all I know. Most other stuff about the endgame here is deep into speculation territory.
Rudy is more likely than Dess to be the Knight but my personal schizo pick is Asriel. He has an intimate connection with her and his Dark World self sharing aspects of her like the bat would line up with that, but its attacks and showoffy mannerisms are reminiscent of how his tastes were in UT, not to mention the Knight's last attack basically being Hyper Goner. It would also explain Kris' loyalty to it. There's even a line in Chapter 3 about Asriel getting embarrassed about playing the dinosaur and switching his main to the female Sword Magician.
