This film proves what has always been evident and that Ben Grimm (The Thing) is the most interesting character in the group and should be the focal point and 1B to Reed’s innate antagonism- not Sue- he steals the show with very limited dialogue or material- Reed and Sue as a couple has always been lame and their chemistry has never translated to a film adaptation

Making surfer a woman was pointless as it didn’t shake up the dynamic between him and Johnny that much- unless they were going to go all the way with a romance angle I don’t get it- but this Johnny doesn’t get punani so that potential storyline was crushed before the film ever released- Galactus was no where near as threatening or terrifying as he should have been and the film lacked any creative practical or combat use of the team’s powers or dynamic as a unit

Over all dull, boring, average, forgettable- the fantastic four in a nutshell
