That was anticlimactic. Tried over and over getting a crit with Sue's killer bow when he had his silver axe equipped, then rescuing her on the same turn. He would never equip the hand axe that way, so it was completely safe for Sue. It was just NOT happening though, so I decided to play fast and loose with Rutger's life. Kept attacking with the killer edge, but never critted. Just chipped his health down and wasted a bunch of killing edge uses.
The way I've been assuming the dice rolls for crits work behind the scenes is that it rolls for the hit first, and THEN the crit (if the hit fails, then it doesn't roll for the crit at all). So if I have 50 hit and 10 crit for example, my actual odds of critting are 0.5 * 0.1 = 0.05
Is that how it actually is? (Ignoring whatever number fudging occurs due to the luck stat)
