The actual reason this game doesn't click for everyone is the pacing of the story. I like this game much more after the ending, and if I ever want to play it again, it would be much different than the first time through. However, all the pieces really come together for the first time during the last boss fight, and I wasn't super emotionally invested in the story before that, because the stakes only become clear at the last moment
