Bandai Namco already has the rights. they will 100% just pull the trigger and put him in Smash at some point.
They'll justify it by saying he's been in over a hundred games, a bunch of which were on Nintendo consoles. and not only that but he's been front and center of a shit ton of fighting games that have cumulatively sold tens of millions of copies.
