Is Concussive worth it?

My thought process is that it gives me benefits based on staggering enemies, but as far as I am aware, my dog is giving me all of those benefits anyway. As in, he is giving me all of those stagger buffs by doing his own thing.

I'm in the Meat Grinder testing out my DPS versus different enemies and different combos.
And so far it seems like the damage is the same.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am new.
